Learning to Make Printables

I finally learned how to digitize my lettering. And might I just add, it was not too difficult…especially since I took a class called Photoshop for Lettering Artists, which I found on the Besotted blog. I can’t tell you the hours I spent on YouTube, trying to figure out how to get my lettering into Photoshop and do something with it, but with this class, which is only about 30 minutes long, I was able to do it with ease.

Here is the first thing I made. It’s a free 4 x 4 printable that you can download. Or you can just right click and save the image.

Have a great day!

Documented Life Week 13…with Caleb’s Help!

The prompt for Week 13 in The Documented Life Project is to have someone draw in your journal and then finish it. We were on our way to Dallas to see my son Caleb’s new rent house when I saw the prompt. Luckily I had my journal with me and had him draw something in it during lunch. We took him to Burger Island, so I’m thinking that influenced the picture he drew in my journal. I love it!

Here is what he drew. (The page has some green paint on it from when I painted last’s week’s pages, but it will blend in when I put color on the page.)

Fun, huh? When I got home, I took some Neocolor crayons and colored the page. Then I used a waterbrush to “loosen” the pigment. It is like watercolor! So much fun and it is so incredibly easy! And NO mess!

After it dried, I used bubble wrap to dab some white paint over the blank areas. Then I used a black paint pen and did the lettering and added black dots and a border. Using a Signo Uniball White pen, I added detail to the letters and some dots here and there.

Sometimes you just have to eat an awesome greasy hamburger! I do believe that is my favorite food ever.

Here is the open spread ready for my week ahead. Gotta document my life….you never know what exciting things may happen!

Have an awesome week!

My Awesome Holiday!

I had the best week off last week! I’m sure you all had fun with family and ate lots of food like I did, but I bet you didn’t have as much fun crafting as I did.

The day after Thanksgiving I stayed at my mom’s house and she helped me make stockings. When my son got married, I felt bad that my new daughter-in-law didn’t have a matching stocking at Christmas. Three years later, I finally got them made! I saw some on Pinterest that I liked, and decided to tweak it a bit to suit my decor. I just wish I had gotten bigger letters. Here is how it turned out…

I made them out of burlap and even made a lining for them out of muslin. I painted my family’s initials in red, then mod podged some glitter on them, and then tied them on with some pretty ribbon. Pretty cute, huh?

I got my wreath made (also a Pinterest find) and think it looks fabulous!

Yes, I glitted the K initial too! Love that bright green!

And then I finally got the courage to paint a canvas like I saw here:

I decided to paint mine with a deep red background to go with my new stockings. I think it turned out quite nice.

And here is a picture of me “in process”. My husband took a picture and scared me…glad it didn’t make me mess up!

So today I go back to work on this Marvelous Monday. (sigh…I declare it to be so!) I’m thankful for the time I’ve had to rest,┬árecuperate, and rejuvenate over the last week and I hope to live the week fresh, happy, and strong. Whatever I do I pray I glorify my LORD.

Have a Marvelous Monday!
